Tone your body Program

In these classes we will practice postures that stimulate the metabolism, strengthen the body and increase flexibility. But most importantly we will connect the body to the mind, which means, we will learn slowly to change from the inside out, which makes it ideal for overweight people, who are looking for a permanent change, rather than being on the rollercoaster of weight control.

The Asanas in this program will challenge our coordination, since they will require synchronizing movement with respiration. This technique of synchronizing movement with breathing is a great tool for learning to be fully present in the given moment. To be able to connect with our body on such an intense level allows us to be less critical of it. Once we can gradually stop treating our body as an (outer) machine which has to fulfill our wishes and go according to our self image, we can start practicing self acceptance; this practice of connecting our mind with our body is always accompanied with a sense of relief and calmness.

The Tone Your Body program is suitable to practitioners of all levels. We can always adjust the Asana to our body by using Props. This program is also highly suitable for overweight people. However, in order to lose weight we have to consider the following points:

  • Setting realistic goals
  • Practicing self control in order to handle craving and lust
  • Forgive ourselves when we might occasionally eat what is not beneficial to us
  • Making lifestyle changes
  • Choosing intelligent food
  • Asking for support from family, friends and colleagues
  • Making a menu before the hunger strikes
  • Developing awareness
  • Enjoying the changes
